This is the trailer from an episode from a work in progress about medicinal plants titled "The Green Sacrament". The use of special plants to induce altered states of consciousness has been documented since ancient times, in various civilizations around the planet.
In South America indigenous tribes in the Amazon and in recent times, religious groups spread throughout the world continue to have spiritual practices that are centered around the drinking of a brewed infusion of plants found in the Rainforest of the Amazon known as AYAHUASCA (Yage, Daime, Huasca,Vegetal,...).
The ritual use of Ayahuasca as a religious sacrament is legal in Brazil, Peru, Holland and Spain. In Brazil there are three main religious groups that have this practice and drink it legally: the Santo Daime Church, UDV (União do Vegetal) & Barquinha, as well as various independent spiritual groups.
